Effective Monday, January 24th, patients brought to the NHH Emergency Department (ED) with a head injury will have a new system of electronic and human supports waiting at the ready to get them the care they need as quickly as possible. The Emergency Neurosurgery Image Transfer System (ENITS) is a welcome complement to the top-of-the-line digital CT scanner installed at NHH in 2009 thanks to community donations.

One year ago last week, NHH announced the expansion of its mammography service with the introduction of an important new addition: the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP).
Jennifer Gillard, Director, Communications and Community Engagement, was presented with the Ontario Hospital Association’s Communicator of the Year 2010 award at the HealthAchieve convention earlier this week. The award, presented in Toronto, recognizes outstanding communicators working in health care organizations across the province.
NHH publishes its In Touch community newsletters in two formats: a monthly, one-page edition, and more lengthy special feature editions. The newsletters are distributed to the community in hard-copy through the Northumberland News and Northumberland Today, and in electronic format via this website.
Hospitals strike formal partnership to better serve patients
The partnership between the region’s hospitals that care for patients with kidney disease is growing stronger. Today the three hospitals: Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC), Ross Memorial Hospital (RMH), and Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH), along with the Peterborough site of Dialysis Management Centre Inc. (DMC) and the Peterborough Regional Nephrology Associates (PRNA) have released a new strategic plan.
